This effort has long roots, but work got underway in earnest in 2004, culminating in the formation of FACT+FANCY in February 2007. The support and good humor of many colleagues over this period is appreciated all around.

The open-source html editor Nvu helped generate valid bits of xhtml and css, and works fine for generating simple documents, though, due to differences between browsers, a screen split between text editor and web browsers serves best. EditPlus is also a great tool and works well with Asian characters.

The left-hand table of contents IE6 position fixed fix is from CSS Play by Stu Nicoles (2007). A lot of work to implement, but a nice result worth the trouble. Thanks for letting folks copy this Stu.
